Adding DNS records in cPanel allows you to manage how your domain resolves to different services and servers.

Accessing cPanel:

Log in to your cPanel account using your credentials. Typically access via yourdomain.com/cpanel in your browser.

Adding DNS Records:

1. Locate Domains Section: Find "Domains", "Zone Editor" or "Advanced Zone Editor" in cPanel dashboard

2. Access DNS Records: Click the appropriate link to manage DNS records

3. Select Your Domain: Choose the domain if you have multiple domains

4. Add Record: Click "Add a Record" or "Add DNS Record" button

5. Select Record Type: Choose DNS record type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.)

6. Configure Record Details:

   - For A record: Specify name (e.g., "www") and IPv4 address

   - For CNAME: Specify name (e.g., "mail") and canonical name

   - Include TTL (Time to Live) and data value

7. Save Record: Click "Add Record" or "Save" to add the DNS record

8. Verify: Use online tools or command-line utilities to confirm the DNS record was added correctly

Important Notes:

- DNS record types and purposes vary, so understand your domain and hosting requirements

- TTL represents duration for DNS information cache. Lower TTL = faster updates but increased server load

- Changes may take time to propagate across DNS servers

This process is essential for routing emails, directing traffic, and managing various domain services.
